A SAVAGE LAND FOR A SAVAGE NIGHT
WHO: EVERYONE OF ALL AGES
WHERE: The Xavier Institute
WHEN: June 15th, early evening to all night long!
WARNINGS: Who knows! Language is likely, violence is possible, dancing is mandatory.
SUMMARY: prom night prom night gotta get down on prom night
FORMAT: MINGLE
As you enter through the doors of the Danger Room, the sound of cicadas chirping clues you into your arrival to a tropical paradise. Red and orange lights show a room transformed, vines all along the walls and trees that seem to reach the beyond the ceiling. There's no doubt now, you're deep in the heart of the jungle. You can almost feel the heat of a distant volcano, the humidity wafting in from a river just outside, but that's only your imagination. Luckily, someone had the foresight to bring an exterminator into this jungle beforehand, as there isn't a bug in sight.
Fierce papier mache dinosaurs look down on your throughout the room, some perhaps planning their next meal, others regarding the intruders to their home with something not unlike fear. From the stage, the gleaming jaws of a downed Tyrannosaurus look on at the partiers, hungry even in its taxidermied stated.
But there's one ornament that stands above them all: the mirrored surface of what appears to be a pterodactyl man, reflecting the lights all across the room in ways most disco balls only wish they could.
Welcome to the Savage Land. Hope you survive the experience!

good luck getting anything you wanted until Nepeta's finished]

On one hand, maybe he wants a few things before she snags them. On the other, there are sure to be others who will as well. He can look the other way if the girl's starving, but it's hard to tell under a bulky trenchcoat like that.
And so, a seven-foot-tall blue cat guy ends up standing just next to her, helping himself to a sandwich as he glances down at her.]
You should make sure to try the crullers. I made those myself.

[her cheerful response is cut off as Nepeta actually looks up to see who's recommending more delicious baked goods for her purview and finds that it's a seven foot tall blue cat guy.
seven foot tall blue cat guy.
blue cat guy.
cat guy.
her expression is now one of complete wonderment and awe at the fact that this is actually a guy who exists in the real world and is also right next to her. her dessert plate is completely forgotten for the moment as she finally manages to whisper something close to her feelings on the matter]
Ohmygosh.

Eventually, he spots something - a sheet cake, cut into neat little squares, lookin' just frickin' delicious. He spots one corner piece left, and it's got a little strawberry on it and oh man, that looks so good, he's just gonna reach over and grab i-
aaand it's gone before he can get a hand on it, vanishing into the giant freakin' trenchcoat. He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.]
Hey, c'mon, you took the end piece!

Which she sort of is, anyway, given how she's parked by the refreshments table and steadily demolishing a trayful of pastries absent-mindedly -- all the more impressive, really, since she's doing it one-handed, her left hand still sporting a cast. She's multi-tasking, eyes roving around the room to curiously take in the other ImPorts while getting more than her daily required intake of carbohydrates. ]
Re: open!
Jeepers creepers, hope you're not planning on eating the whole table there, too. Hehe.

Along with chicken wings. Moist and succulent and far richer in flavor than any chicken she's eaten before.
And these shrimp kabobs with pineapple and red and green peppers. The seasons on it kept it from being too sweet and Saber had never had pineapple before. It's something she'll have to ask Shirou to use more of.
And these little 'kay-sa-dee-ya' things were amazing. Cheese and vegetables with beef prepared in a way she's never had before. If Saber had been told before the food would be this good, she would not have had much apprehension about accompanying Shirou and Rin to this event. Much as the very short blue-and-white dress left her feeling naked, much as her hair being down felt strange, good food always tended to make for a good evening for her.
And so she enjoys herself by eating and keeping a sharp eye out for if Archer decides to try anything with Rin.]

It isn't until she notices the young lady sampling just about every offering at the table. Angelica's eyebrows raise as watches the food disappear.]

Thankfully, he's not looking to hide quite as much as usual -- there are a few people he wants to make sure know that he is there. Every now and then he'll get distracted, but even with the shades over his eyes, its obvious that he's watching for someone. Possibly multiple someones.]

Partially, at least. She'd known Rose was coming, and it shouldn't have been surprising that Davesprite had attended as well. Except it was. Not that prom was closed to people who attended the Institute, but she was pretty sure he had only come last time to keep an eye on his friends as well. Formal occasions didn't really seem like something he wanted to frequent.
As the night had gone on, navigating the danger room in her dress had become easier, whether it was because students were up and leaving, spiking the punch and giggling at their tables, or simply because she'd had the opportunity to practice remained to be seen. The blonde inclines her head slightly and gives him an approving look once she's close enough. He does clean up nicely.]

[From what Saber understands from what she has seen of television, the security at events like this are usually well dressed and wear sunglasses. A sort of short hand for anyone looking for help. However, Saber isn't looking for help tonight and is simply curious. She might have seen that sort of visual short hand on television, but that doesn't mean it's true.
Time to test that theory.]

[ Rin slips up to him in a dress that's a bit old fashioned for the occasion, but it'll do for her. ]

Damn him for being late. He'd been hoping for a repeat of last year. Rolling his eyes, he hid it back in his pocket again, and then wandered the length of the table with total innocence as if he hadn't just been about to do anything heinous.
