A SAVAGE LAND FOR A SAVAGE NIGHT
WHO: EVERYONE OF ALL AGES
WHERE: The Xavier Institute
WHEN: June 15th, early evening to all night long!
WARNINGS: Who knows! Language is likely, violence is possible, dancing is mandatory.
SUMMARY: prom night prom night gotta get down on prom night
FORMAT: MINGLE
As you enter through the doors of the Danger Room, the sound of cicadas chirping clues you into your arrival to a tropical paradise. Red and orange lights show a room transformed, vines all along the walls and trees that seem to reach the beyond the ceiling. There's no doubt now, you're deep in the heart of the jungle. You can almost feel the heat of a distant volcano, the humidity wafting in from a river just outside, but that's only your imagination. Luckily, someone had the foresight to bring an exterminator into this jungle beforehand, as there isn't a bug in sight.
Fierce papier mache dinosaurs look down on your throughout the room, some perhaps planning their next meal, others regarding the intruders to their home with something not unlike fear. From the stage, the gleaming jaws of a downed Tyrannosaurus look on at the partiers, hungry even in its taxidermied stated.
But there's one ornament that stands above them all: the mirrored surface of what appears to be a pterodactyl man, reflecting the lights all across the room in ways most disco balls only wish they could.
Welcome to the Savage Land. Hope you survive the experience!

Funny how the tables turn in life, hm?
Of course, he's also making it a point to greet and speak with those that he knows, to try and have fun... Shouldn't be too hard. It's a party. ]

He had come here just to see if he could get a glimpse of Zee, like the massive creeper that he was. But in the meanwhile, he was drinking along the perimeter, staying out of everyone's way and getting progressively more trashed on the Institute's dime.
While he had never actually spoken to Angelica, he had a vague idea of who she was. On a whim, he starts his approach, finishing off his drink and dumping it before he gets to her.]
This your little shindig? [He asks once he's close enough to be heard over the music, though he doesn't want to shout.] You really do this every year?

Surprisingly, he doesn't look too awkward, though. It might be because he's dressed well for the occasion, in a fine suit and with his hair neatly styled for once...so his aloofness comes across as handsome brooding rather than unsociable awkwardness.
He might be pleased if only he realized that. ]

[ Rin, on the other hand, doesn't do well when she's surrounded by several individuals and it shows. While she might have initially wanted to be the center of attention, the realization her dress doesn't make her stand out as much bored her to tears. Now she's just another pretty face stuck with a group of friends and that just won't do for her.
What does do it for her?
Complaining gratuitously to her Servant. ]

[It's Saber, in a dress with sandals and her hair down, a plate of food from the refreshment table in one hand. She's relatively at ease tonight, though her eyes keep scanning the crowd to pick out Shirou and Rin like a hawk.]

Re: SIDELINES
Jake looks okay. He tried to do his hair like Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins, but it's all fallen apart by now from anxious scratching and poor preparation. He's rolled up the sleeves of his forest green tuxedo already, probably not the best care for a jacket, but he couldn't handle it. The ends of his tailcoat reach down as far well past his white shorts, and he even took care to wear green shoes that matched!! And finally, because he thought they were hardcore, a pair of green fingerless gloves. Okay, but if you don't trust a little descriptive prose, just add a forest green tailcoat over top and you've got it.
He still doesn't feeling 100% like himself, probably worse because who he planned to ask couldn't be there. He just stands around awkwardly. Maybe eventually he'll spot someone he knows?))
no subject
Nill spots Jake across the room and doesn't see the rabbit until it's too late and there is a knife brandished at her. This... doesn't seem like it's okay for a dance, but she raises her hands in defense anyway, wings flared behind her. She gives Jake a very, very confused and pointed look.]

She's been around the floor a bit, dressed in a stylish dress that hugs her form just right and is a bit flashy.
She'd been trying to find her way back to Gil, to check up on him, but she kept getting distracted. But that's okay, she's here now.]
So, enjoying the party? [She knows the answer but feels the need to ask anyway.]

TERRIBLY LATE AND OPEN
Unfortunately, despite coming to the event with the best intentions of bringing himself out of his brooding and adjusting to this queer time period, he's managed to give himself enough bitterness to sulk over for months.
He's wiggled away from his escort for the moment and is now choosing to stand as close to the wall as possible, watching over the crowds with an incredibly unimpressed expression. He's practically radiating awkward, the poor guy is so very out of his element.]

Man, he shouldn't have even come.
He'll be hanging out near the wall, hands in the pockets of his jeans. He could be patrolling right now.

But she attends this one. At the moment, she still doesn't know many people. Thus, she's keeping off to the side. Watch the crowds and grinning in her multi-colored dress. ]
