The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

[Davesprite pauses to watch where Vriska's run to, fighting Hank's hold for a moment to try and search for her and John.

He doesn't linger long -- there was one thing Vriska had said that stuck, and that was that John didn't need him watching over him like a child. She wasn't wrong about that, but he couldn't help but feel a sense of--

[Dave takes a minute to adjust his bowtie and eventually turns to her, thumbing back over to the punch.]

Gonna hook myself up with some of that. You in?

[She smiles at that. Dave seemed able to bounce back from just about anything. The blonde nods, and kind of grips his hand just a little, enough to remind him that it's there. Lead the way.]

[He shrugs and glances toward the punch bowl.]

Someone probably dropped something in it. I had some earlier.

[He stuffs his hand in his pocket and leads her as nonchalantly as possible. When he stops at the punch bowl, he scoops himself a cup first and puts it down before setting one up for her and offering it in a similar fashion.

Its only to make it look like he's doing something aside from watching John and Vriska, anyway.]

I know I hate going out to a nice place hot and sweaty. [ yup he even said it mostly with a straight face. ]

Spreading it out's probably for the best.

[Gosh Dave how rude, using her as a cover. But Nill takes the cup without batting an eye, nodding her thanks. She isn't particularly worried about watching anyone, but she does let her gaze casually wander over the dance floor.]
