The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

[Cassie's wandering around. It isn't her school, but that doesn't stop her. Despite what people think, she actually likes parties. They're great for people-watching and Cassie's always watching people.

Like Charlie, who looks happy. Which makes Cassie happy.]

Like some spike for your punch?

[Charlie grinned at the younger girl and held out her drink.]

I suppose. Should you really be peddling your elicit booze here, though?

[Cassie as a small flask in her purse that she pulls out, tipping a small amount of alcohol into Charlie's drink.]

If someone catches me, what's gonna happen? I don't go to school here.

...point. and it`s not like you could ever compete with Jessica for bringing in the booze.

[She took a sip of the drink and considered it, then took another.]

You having fun? [Her smile turned teasing.] Didactic bring a date?

Me? A date? [Cassie scoffed, although she blushed. Not like Katurian would have come, he made it clear that she was just a kid to him.] Not a chance.

And yeah, I am having fun. I like watching people.

[foreverbouncing]

[Charlie raised an eyebrow at that blush. Well, national was certainly un-Cassie like. Definitely a teasing smile now. ]

...hmm. Did you ask somebody, Cassie? Hmmmmmmmmmm?

[wrong_sometimes]

No, he's not interested in me, not like that. He thinks I'm like, his little sister. [She shrugs. It's not going to change.]

[foreverbouncing]

Oh. That sucks.

[Brief, thoughtful pause.]

So we should find you somebody to dance with then.

[wrong_sometimes]

I don't dance. Really, I don't need to be set up.

[foreverbouncing]

Uh huh. [Charlie was already looking around.]

Dancing with somebody isn't the same as being set up on a date or something, Cassie.

And everybody dances!

[wrong_sometimes]

[Cassie snorts.] I don't. I like watching. It's my thing. [And a bad joke, but she's smiling so it counts, right?]

[foreverbouncing]

Uh huh. [Another dismissal before she points at a random point.]

He's kinda cute, what about him?

[wrong_sometimes]

I don't need a dance partner, Charlie. [She looks at him.] Besides, he's going to end up puking drunk by the end of the night, he's got that frat-boy vibe on him.

[foreverbouncing]

But it's prom! You have to dance with somebody! Even if you don't go here. [She smirked, still surveying the crowd.]

Oh hey, he's sort of cute. Kinda short...

[wrong_sometimes]

Please don't try and set me up. [She's really not in a dating mood. Or a dancing one, but she knows if she caves to one, the other follows sooner or later.]

[foreverbouncing]

It's just dancing, Cassie. It's not like I'm going to try and get you to dance with someone and then cleverly plan several 'accidental' runins between the two of you, typically in front of various places 'the young people' hang out so that you feel a faint obligation to go and do something together thus slowly getting past your various anti-social issues and junk!

[She grinned broadly as she finally took a breath...and then looked suddenly thoughtful...]
