A Night in West Egg

The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

It was an event I recalled rather fondly on its previous occurrence.

[Oh my!! Nill is surprised by the dip, but doesn't fall or freak out. Her wings flare a little to help her balance, and the effect is probably pretty picturesque to anybody watching. Get it, girls.]

Yes I had fun last time too.

[ she pulls her back up smoothly enough, a little excited about hot having ruined the maneuver ]

I should hope this evening progresses just as pleasantly.

[Nill is super impressed as well. She's so happy to be going around the dance floor with Kanaya.]

So do I. It has been good so far.

[ kanaya inclines her head in damian's direction ]

[She rolls her eyes just the slightest bit.]

He does not like being around other people.

But he is still fond of your own company, is he not? One should think he would take the opportunity to enjoy it.

[Nill laughs silently.]

He does not like showing affection in public.

Neither is he fond of enjoying himself, if the look of things properly communicates the matter.

[ she begins leading them a little closer in his direction as their dance continues ]

Perhaps we might convince him to cut in?

[Nill follows because she doesn't really know what else to do. But she laughs a bit, and shakes her head.]

[ in that case, she twirls them back along the floor ]

[She does cast one last glance at Damian, but nods to herself.]
