A Night in West Egg

The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

Where exactly could such an addition be acquired?

Just...for curiosity's sake, of course.

We got them at a costume shop.

I wonder what material was used in its construction.

[ her hand absentmindedly raises, but she catches herself before it reaches any further ]

May I... May I touch it?

[She seems surprised by the request, but leans forward so Kanaya can examine the mustache.]

[glowsferatu]

[ she cautiously reaches in and gives the mustache a couple strokes before snatching her hand back and balling the fist against her lips. after a moment, she relaxes, running her thumb against her forefingers. ]

It's an odd sensation. Nothing similar to what one might expect from hair.

That's because it's manmade fibers.

[glowsferatu]

[ she moves her hand back to feel her own hair. she is definitely well on her way to drunk at this point. ]

That seems as though it's cheating. I'm sure a more pleasing material could be found.

Probably. But Alex and I were on a budget. I can't spend money like I used to.

[glowsferatu]

Given hair extensions, or simply a friend who was inclined toward a trim, I could have managed something, I'm sure.

I'll keep that in mind for next time we need a foolproof disguise.

That may grant me opportunity to practice with the project.
