A Night in West Egg

WHO: EVERYBODY OF ALL AGES
WHERE: The Xavier Institute
WHEN: The night of June 16th, all night!
WARNINGS: Who can really tell anymore? Probable language. Possible violence. Copious dancing.
SUMMARY: PROM PROM PROM PROM PROM PROM PROM
FORMAT: OPEN

The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

Mm, I wouldn't know. [Sip.] I was never much of a promgoer myself, not after the whole "triple date/Sandman" fiasco. Did I ever tell you about that?

[ ok looking up from her book fully now ]

What'd you do?
incywincyhero: (spidey: so then I said)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-18 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[He looks around to make sure no one's listening, then leans in with a conspiratorial expression:] Well, it wasn't all my doing -- in fact, a lot of it wasn't -- but I kinda ended up with three girls thinking I was their date to prom. But then I missed it because I accidentally turned Sandman into Sand-Monster and had to fix it.

Oh my god, Parker luck.

[ hand over her mouth though because dude this is hilarious. she's grinning a little from between her fingers ]

So who asked?
incywincyhero: (spidey: sinking feeling)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-19 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Grinning back:] Well, first I wasn't planning to go, but Liz Allan asked me, which thrilled Flash Thompson to no end. But then I mentioned I'd decided to go after all to Betty, who misunderstood and thought I was asking her. Meanwhile Aunt May being Aunt May, she went to talk to Anna Watson and they set me up with MJ without asking either of us -- this was before we'd actually met.

Liz Allan asked you? [ SQUINTING. LMFAO DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING ]

Your life sounds like it should be a movie, honestly. Glad it wasn't mine. [ pe...ter... ]
incywincyhero: (peter: sunglasses)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-21 11:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, yeah. For the first fifteen years of my life she wouldn't give me the time of day, but then I got my powers and she was all over me. I guess I must've come off as more confident, or something.

[Siiiip.] Supposedly it was three movies, but the locals keep apologizing to me about the third one. Something about a jazz dance -- I don't really wanna know, to be honest.

Or something. [ LET'S NOT MAKE THIS WEIRD BY BRINGING UP HER PETER MEMORIES ]

Heh. Jazz dance. I mean, there's one at home, you know, but it's just like -- you know who -- not anything else. [ and she refuses to see it since they didn't get a penny from it ]
incywincyhero: (spidey: leap into the unknown)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-23 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, what? When you say "one at home," you mean --

[personal profile] webline 2012-06-24 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. They made one about him. I mean, this was way before he -- uh -- you know.... [ died. ] and it featured my dearest daddy.

[ wow now this conversation is getting bitter. ]
incywincyhero: (peter: decisions)

[He reaches out to squeeze her shoulder.] It figures. And let me guess, the grand total of royalties paid was nada.

[personal profile] webline 2012-06-25 04:25 am (UTC)(link)
Well, who're they going to pay it to if they don't know who you are, right?
incywincyhero: (spidey: oy vey)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-25 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Bet they didn't lose much sleep over that part, though. [Beat.] I can't decide if I'd prefer if it flopped or blew away the box office.
webline: (78)

[personal profile] webline 2012-06-29 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
It blew away the box office. Highest grossing movie ever, apparently.
incywincyhero: (peter: noes not the coffee)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-06-29 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my god. That's just -- [strangely elated rage] -- Parker luck.
webline: (30)

[personal profile] webline 2012-06-30 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. [ shrugs her shoulders ] I haven't heard about it for a while, but there might be a sequel in the works. I don't know.
incywincyhero: (spidey: oy vey)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-07-03 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
It just goes to show. [Spreaing his arms wide.] There are entire other universes out there -- yours, this place -- where I'm a blockbuster star, and I never get one red cent for it.
webline: (12)

[personal profile] webline 2012-07-06 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
Pfff. I'm sure there are universe where the Parker luck doesn't exist either.

[ she waves a hand ]

You have my pity, Peter.
incywincyhero: (spidey: fruit loot)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-07-06 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Now that I refuse to believe.

[He rolls his eyes.]

I'm touched, honestly.

[personal profile] webline 2012-07-06 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
I say it because I care. I thought that was obvious.
incywincyhero: (spidey: fruit loot)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-07-06 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can see your heart overflowing with compassion for your fellow man from all the way over here. [He balls up his napkin and throws it at her.]

[ woops catching the napkin ball and flicking it back at him ]

Empathy senses, Peter?
incywincyhero: (spidey: quippage)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-07-07 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
[Pff, like he's not going to flick it right back.]

No, my bullhockey sense is tingling.

[personal profile] webline 2012-07-08 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[ aaand throwing it back ]

Now you're imagining things.
incywincyhero: (spidey: good plan)

[personal profile] incywincyhero 2012-07-09 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
No, but I did forget what we were talking about. [He drains his punch and considerately stuffs the napkin in to sop up the last dregs before throwing it at her head.]
