A Night in West Egg

The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

What's wrong, Ggio? [He hugs him a little tighter.]

It's nothing, just... There's nothing left to do. I passed and I won't be seeing these kids again. I don't care about it.

[A pause, where he takes his hands from his pockets, crosses his arms instead.]

... But it's weird. What do I do if I can't come back here?

[Tom isn't so sure that Ggio doesn't care, but regardless of whether he does or not, Ggio brings up a good point. What was he going to do from now on? Was he going to stay in the bar? Just stay with Tom from now on?]

Well... Uh... What do you want to do?

[ridethetiger]

[He stiffens some, turns to press his face into Tom's shirt.]

I don't know. I mean, I don't know enough. The books and writing and stuff was okay, and... I don't really want to stop.

[Maybe it was another sign he was becoming way too human. These he held a pencil far more than he held his sword, and yet... he sort of knew he was gaining something few ever would from Hueco Mundo. Something he felt he could hold over others, maybe gain power in his own right.

Well. If his power was stable, and he was alive back there.]

[Tom didn't really know what he should be feeling right now, because Ggio had changed so much in the year that they had been together, that it's hard to believe that it was such a short time. he knew that Ggio's power was waning some, he was becoming more human, and it was selfish of Tom to be thinking about that, but he was happy for it, even though he didn't want Ggio to lose his identity.

He'd have to make sure to let the arrancar feed off of him more often.]

Ggio, do you want to go back to school?

[ridethetiger]

But I can't go back. [He glances up at Tom, puzzled, before averting his eyes again.] I don't think I'm done, there's still a lot. But I'm done with school, right?

[borntobewildcat]

[Tom just sighs and puts his hand on the back of Ggio's neck, brushing his hair aside and gently squeezing his neck.]

You might have graduated, but you can probably keep taking classes. I could talk to Hank, if you'd like. If not, you could always go to college. [That was a weird thought.]

[ridethetiger]

College? I'd have to leave the City?

[He keeps his gaze this time when he looks up at Tom, much less troubled, rests his cheek against him, and nods.]

Classes are okay.

[borntobewildcat]

No, Ggio. [He chuckles a little and idly pets his boyfriend.] It's just the next level of schooling. Since you finished high school, now you can go to college.

We might want to consider classes at Xavier's first, though.
