The guests into an auditorium transformed. Through the magic of papier mache, the room has been decked out like a speakeasy, the refreshments laid out on a very makeshift bar that will not stock alcohol as long as they can prevent it. The whole room is cast with a cool blue light, and a jazz band's been hired to take the stage for an hour before leaving the rest of the evening to the DJ.

It was time to get this party started.

[ Honestly, for as long as Julian's been at the Xavier school in any world, he's been getting detention. So this doesn't phase him that much, he'll do it. It's still worth it.

But that doesn't mean he won't be difficult as hell about it first. ]

They will get home in one piece! Come on, it's one flask in a huge bowl of punch. It doesn't get much more dilute, it'll just. You know, give them a kick. Show me the school prom where the punch isn't spiked.

That's kind of what we're going for here, Julian. And what if I let one flask go. And Kurt lets another go. Scatty another? How do I know you're the first person to spike that bowl.

No alcohol, Julian. If you ever want to graduate, you're going to have to pick your battles. This isn't one you're going to win.

[ Picking his battles was never his strong point anyway. Neither was avoiding detention, though. He rolls his eyes and scowls. ]

Okay, fine, I won’t spike the punch again. [ …while she’s watching. ] Everyone can be sober and boring. Satisfied now?

Go refill that bowl, check the tables and refill anything else that's low, then you can go back. [Pause] But I'm not kidding about that kitchen duty. Breakfast, lunch, dinner.
