we will never be a nuclear family
WHO: The Spider-Family, and friends!
WHERE: A house in Bed-Stuy, soon to be the SPIDER-HAUS.
WHEN: All day Sunday!
WARNINGS: Spider-Shenanigans.
SUMMARY: The Spider-Family movies into their new home.
FORMAT: Quick, then whatever!
[The new residence of some 70% of the City's spider-themed populace is an unprepossessing little house in Brooklyn. Or not so little, what with six bedrooms and a basement apartment, but it has that down-home vibe to it that Peter hadn't even realized he'd been missing in the MAC until he signed the lease papers.
Peter is the first one to arrive today, since he wanted to unlock all the doors and turn on all the utilities before eight -- no, seven -- teenagers come crashing in. After hauling in the boxes and bags he brought with him in the rental car (which presciently includes two grocery sacks full of snacks: see above note re: teenagers), he retrieves himself a coke and goes out to sit on the front stoop, waiting for everyone else to come swinging in.]

MEET AND GREET
And just so we're clear, Peter's not sharing.]

Well. It's automatically going to be better than the tiny 3-person dorms at his Charter school, where one of the people doesn't know his secret identity. ]

Hey, did you see a 'kitchen' box anywhere? We are disturbingly silverwearless.

She knew almost everyone that was there too, so she was just going to stand around and, you know, do nothing. Just smile a bit.
And look for easy exits. ]

[The joke falls flat, because hello awkward. Of all the people Peter's met from the other universe, Kitty is the only one he knew of but didn't really know in his own.]

[ She won't comment on it because this is Peter, or some Peter, but anyway, she wants to make nice with him. ]
You're really great for doing this for us all, though.

EMERGENCY SHOPPING RUN

...We're going to need a bigger bookshelf.
Or two.

You're not wrong, but bookshelves are pretty easy to improvise. Beds, on the other hand...

Can't we just make them sleep on the couches? It'll, uh... be good for their character?

UNPACKING AND SETTLING IN

Sitting cross-legged on the floor of her newly-acquired bedroom, Mary Jane has haphazardly (though with her own sense of organization, alright?!) strewn the particle board pieces of her future bookshelf on the floor to study. She's holding the instructions in hand, flipping through her wordless little book of pictures and working to decipher their meaning. It isn't too hard, but it's getting late, so her deduction skills here are not entirely up to standard.
The door is propped open as she gets on her hands and knees to search around for her screwdriver, determined to find her starting point—though she's glancing up at the open hallway every once in a while to catch fellow housemates' eyes and give them a combination of a grin and a pout as she works. ]

[ Kitty is just going to hover behind her and look how she fares. Unless she wants help. ]

Some of the boards are too long for me on my own, I think—really unwieldy, you know?

I think my quota's definitely filled for the next decade.
... Can someone shove a pizza box in this general direction?
