SUMMARY: Wanda is going to help Eli shop because he is a fashion nightmare. Or at least fashion unpleasant dream.
WARNINGS: Nothing, really.

[Eli was kind of nervous about going shopping with Wanda, but he tried not to let it show. It was just not the sort of thing he did. Ever. Except maybe with his mom or something, and his mom never really criticized his fashion choices. Still, he had fun with Wanda and was looking forward to that part of it.

Which was why he was on time at the ground floor of the MAC to meet with Wanda, smiling when he saw her.]

[Wanda locked her hands behind her back quickly -- she wasn't really twitching.. was she?]

[weakly] Am I that obvious?

[Eli smirked at her.]

[For a moment, she looked like she was about to hug him, or.. or something, but she managed to compose herself -- relatively.]

I.. I'm not even sure there's anything here I haven't seen...

Oh come on...

[Eli paused what he was going to say when he realized she wasn't kidding.]

I mean, it's bathing suit season, do you have one of those yet?

[Mostly he was kidding.]

[Wanda gave him an odd look.]

One? I have five.

[pause]

..Which is not nearly enough. [She beamed.] Eli, you're brilliant.

[And she promptly dashed down the escalator, not entirely unlike a child chasing an ice-cream truck.]

[Eli smiled back at her, not sure if he understood just why he was brilliant.]

Wait, what-

[Rather confused, he rushed after her.]

Where are we going?!

[She didn't answer, instead gesturing over her shoulder for him to follow him as she darted forward onto the floor below and disappeared into a sea of bathing suit racks.]

[The headset-wearing attendant following them at a brisk, just-shy-of-unprofessional walk was more helpful, informing him with a breathless smile as she toted the bags full of Eli's purchases in their wake,] Miss Maximoff gets a bit.. excited.

[Eli thought excited was a bit reserved for how Wanda seemed to be acting.]

How often does she come here?

[The young woman grinned, ponytail bouncing as she trotted down the escalator.]

Oh, at least once a week, sometimes twice. I think she'd come more often if we restocked more than that.

[She paused, suddenly reproachful.]

You aren't.. Mister Maximoff, are you?

[Meanwhile, in the distance, Wanda has stumbled upon another saleswoman acquaintance and is exchanging enthusiastic greetings.]

[Eli had to laugh at that.]

Are you kidding me? Look at her, now look at me. She's practically a different species than I am she's so gorgeous. She just took pity on me because I have no fashion taste at all.

[The saleswoman shrugged.]

Well, I mean, most of the women who shop here are married to some variation of he crypt-keeper. I assumed she'd lucked out and found herself some young software billionaire who could at least get it u--

[Abruptly, she froze, flushing.]

Oh -- Oh my god, I'm sorry, I didn't mean-- oh god.

Yeeeah, now this is really awkward.

[Eli scratched his head and shifted on his feet. He really wanted to get out of here now.]

[If the girl had a hand free, she would have been hiding her mortified face in it, but she was too busy carrying all of Eli's shopping bags.]

Um.. I think she. Went that way?

[Wanda's laughter sounded from within the maze of swimsuits.]

[Eli nodded.]

Yeah, let's go find Wanda or something.

[Wanda could be found in the center of the racks, deliberating very seriously between two seemingly-identical black swimsuits.]

[Eli wasn't sure why she was debating between the two, since they were the same thing.]

Find something?

[She glanced up at him, smiling reflexively, then sobering as she holds up one in each hand.]

Which one?

Ummm, I wouldn't be able to tell with you just holding them up like that.

[Eli is joking. Mostly.]

[SHOPPING ENSUES]

[After an unimportant amount of time, the young heroes found themselves at door to the women's changing rooms of the swimsuit section. This door leads to a small seating area with a full length mirror and a tasteful freestanding screen that partially hides another door, this one leading to the changing rooms, which are actually thick silk curtains arranged to form booths. The final room is presided over by a gigantic alcove mirror.]

[From behind them, the still-flustered attendant piped up.] Ah, sir, you'll have to wait in the first room. It's for the comfort of our other shoppers, you understand. Miss Maximoff is welcome to travel between the rooms as she tries things on.

Oh, right, right, first room. Sure, I'll just wait there.

[Eli was confused as to why he had to wait in that one specific spot, but he figured it was because they knew he was too poor to pay for anything he damaged if he wandered around by himself.]

[Wanda retreated into the back, and then, after some vague shuffling noises, emerged in a tiny red romper (http://images.bloomingdales.com/is/image/BLM/products/4/optimized/1047864_fpx.tif?wid=325&qlt=90,0&layer=comp&op_sharpen=0&resMode=bilin&op_usm=0.7,1.0,0.5,0&fmt=jpeg) with the straps of a swimsuit visible from the top. She paused in front of the mirror beside him, looking over her shoulder to see the back of the outfit.]

What do you think of this? I've never tried one before -- I'm not sure I can pull it off..

[She tossed him a pleased little grin before returning her attention to the mirror, lips pursed as she appraised her reflection. Then she lifted one hand to the drawstring at her chest and tugged it open gently, allowing the romper to drop to the floor and reveal the swimsuit (http://www2.victoriassecret.com/images/prodlgvw/V295452.jpg) beneath. Eyes still locked thoughtfully on the mirror, she half-turned towards Eli.]
