[As promised Kenzi arrives at the restaurant a little before seven (like five before); which is a feat given how often she's usually late. Since it would be out of place at this restaurant she hasn't gone all out on the dress up and hasn't overdone it with some stylish hairdo, just simple large loose curls. Simple yet stylish.

After coming through the door she quickly locates Gil and makes an attempt to sneak up on him. Although if he had any sense he would have been keeping his eyes on the door.]

[She turns her water glass around a few times before finally looking over at Gil.]

I just wanted tonight to be good and I've already ruined it.

What? [ Gil's floored by that response in particular, because he doesn't consider this night ruined at all -- merely off to an awkward start. ] You didn't ruin anything.

[Kenzi remains silent for a few moments, simply blinking at him as if what he said didn't quite sink in.] Really? [She perks up a bit.]

Yes, really. [ He shakes his head. ] You aren't going to do that again, are you?

I won't do it again. I don't want tonight to be terrible.

We still haven't had our dinner yet. It should be ready in a bit. [ He forces a bit of a smile. ]

[She nods before taking a drink of water.] Yeah.

So you never answered my question about liking shrimp or not.

Oh -- [ He looks at the table automatically and shrugs lightly. ] It's alright. I don't really... eat at places like this often. And shrimp can be expensive...

[She pushes the dish toward him.] Go ahead, I'm not gonna eat them all.

[ He lifts up a fork and pokes into one to take a bite. After a few seconds of chewing, he nods and swallows. ]

The texture is great -- and it's not even overcooked.

[She watches him, nodding once he's done.] I don't get shrimp often but this is probably the best I've had. The smoked mushrooms are good too. The calamari on the other hand... [She eyes the plate with contempt.]

[ He makes a face. ]

Right... don't eat that again. [ He's not going to try it himself either.

But since he doesn't want to talk too much about that, he decides to go back to one of the earlier topics since it did catch his interest. ]

So you've always liked ballet? [ Now that he thinks about it, she is tiny and presumably light enough for that dance. ]

Don't plan on it. [She decides to place her napkin over the calamari dish so she's not even tempted.]

Yeah. When I was little I used to dream of becoming a world famous dancer. I used to wear a tutu all the time, it was near impossible to get me to take it off. [She laughs softly at that.] It was my mother that made me start but it turned out I really loved it.

[ He listens, kind of surprised to even hear this from her. ]

You wouldn't continue something like that here?

Well after running away I didn't really have the money to keep doing it. And now that I live with Bo I don't really have the time. [That's a lie, they aren't near as busy as they could be.]

[ That makes sense. In retrospect, that was a silly question. ]

Sorry to hear. Having to give up something you enjoy... [ Can't have been easy. ]

[She shrugs as she chews on some more shrimp.] Eh, doesn't matter now.

[ And then a couple of the waiters return with their food in tow, placing the dishes before them. They remove the lid and there's the food, sizzling hot but looking excellently prepared. Gil's impressed. ]

Thank you. [ He says as they wish them a good dinner and take off. ] Maybe you could take classes here? But like I said before, I'm not sure what Ms. Natasha can do and if it teaches or it just puts on shows...

[Kenzi takes a moment to savoir the look and smell of her dinner before looking over at Gil's.] Oh, your plate looks good.

Maybe. And if she doesn't teach maybe she'd know of a good school around?

Probably. She's a smart woman. [ He isn't trying to imply that it's a surprise, merely that Natasha seems smarter than most people. Confident and elegant, too. He likes her for that. ] She would know a lot more than I do.

[Kenzi takes a bite of her potatoes and makes an approving noise.]

Mmn, well that's good to know. Would hate to find out you're wo-- Y'know never mind. [She doesn't want to accidentally start another argument.]

What? [ He frowns a bit.

And then-- ] Not this again. When you speak to her, you'll like her. She's... she's a lovely woman.

[Kenzi grins across the table at him, tempted to tease him about having a crush or something but decides against it. Instead she cuts off a piece of her Parmesan pork loin and pops it in her mouth. Immediately she seems to melt into her seat.]

[ He cuts a small piece of his veal chop and takes a bite. If it had been Alice, half this plate would have been emptied out. ]

Anyway... I suppose I should say thanks again. [ He huffs after swallowing. ] For saving me at the auction.

This is sooo good. [She pops another bite in her mouth before shrugging. She at least waits until after she's swallowed to reply.]

No need. [She takes a drink of water before turning to refill her wine.] I honestly didn't think I'd even win, anyway.
