WHO: Eli and Wanda
WHERE: the MAC, then some shopping place
WHEN: Backdated to Wednesday
SUMMARY: Wanda is going to help Eli shop because he is a fashion nightmare. Or at least fashion unpleasant dream.
WARNINGS: Nothing, really.
FORMAT: quick to the point to the point no faking

[Eli was kind of nervous about going shopping with Wanda, but he tried not to let it show. It was just not the sort of thing he did. Ever. Except maybe with his mom or something, and his mom never really criticized his fashion choices. Still, he had fun with Wanda and was looking forward to that part of it.

Which was why he was on time at the ground floor of the MAC to meet with Wanda, smiling when he saw her.]

[She grinned, grabbing his hand to more effectively drag him into the store.]

[Oh, well, if she was going to take his hand she could pull him along anywhere.]

[And she proceeded to do so, striding through the store with enough confidence to send the more casual shoppers scuttling from their path. On the escalator, she regarded the displays with fond familiarity, and when they reached her intended floor, the attendants perked and greeted her by name.]

[Wanda beamed at the well-dressed woman who approached them, using the hand holding Eli's to yank him forward with surprising strength.]

Steph, this is Eli. He didn't know that jeans came in different colors.

[She nodded in somber understanding as the other woman exclaimed her horror and distress, flashing Eli a look of veiled amusement.]

Oh come on, I bet lots of people don't know that!

[Steph didn't seem convinced.]

Perhaps where you come from.

[Wanda couldn't quite hide her amusement, at this point, and squeezed Eli's hand reassuringly before addressing the attendant again.]

Could you get a fitting room ready? I'll send him over in a minute.

[Steph murmured something cordial and affirmative before turning to signal her colleagues with rapid, complex gestures as she walked quickly away. Wanda turned back to Eli, smiling.]

I called ahead to the personal shoppers pull some things for you. I hope you don't mind -- I just thought, well, Pietro doesn't much care for shopping, and this was a little better, for him, so maybe you would prefer it, too..?

[She tilted her head at him inquiringly, trying not to look too hopeful.]

[He could tell that she really wanted him to enjoy it, or at least to be okay with it.]

[Wanda beamed at him, pleased.]

Oh, it's no trouble! They're probably ready for you, if you are..

[She glanced over at the corner where the personal shoppers had congregated, smiling when she saw one wave them over.]

And I'll be right outside the fitting room, if you need anything.

I feel like a gazelle walking into a den of lions.

[She smothered a laugh, urging him forward and into their floral-scented clutches.]

Don't worry; I'll protect you.

[Eli winced and glanced over his shoulder at her.]

Tell my mother I loved her!

[Concern flickered across Wanda's face.]

I don't know how to reach her!

[Eli laughed.]

She's in another dimension.

[She looks up from her champagne and hardback novel -- Wanda Maximoff shops with class, okay -- and smiles at him, handing her book and glass off to a waiting attendant as she stands.]

It looks very nice. Turn around?

It's a t-shirt, flannel, and pants.

[Eli held his arms out and slowly turned around.]

[She grinned, amused.]

It's not what it is, Eli -- it's how it's made.

[When he faced her again, she reached up to straighten his collar, then smoothed down the flannel shirt against his chest.]

[Eli whispered to her.]

I could get this at Target.

[Oh, well, not the touching of course, the touching is nice. God that was sad that he thought that much contact was so nice.]

[Her face fell into a delicate pout.]

Did you not hear what I just said? [She lowered her voice to match his, resurfacing smile conspiratorial.] Besides which, you wouldn't have a team of capable and eager young women at your beck and call at Target, now, would you?

[Satisfied that his shirt was sufficiently straightened, she stepped back to look at him again.]

Now.. another?

[The pout was completely unfair and he had no defense against it.]

I heard, I heard. [He smiled back.] Yeah, but you'd be there, right? That's the important part.

[Eli sighed and nodded.]

Okay, okay, the next one.

[Wanda might have gone a bit pink at his flirting -- for all of the come-ons she had fielded in her life, she wasn't used to this particular approach -- but she wore it well enough, favoring him with a shy little smile before she returned to her chair to wait for him.

The next outfit, however, had her pursing her lips in a little moue of displeasure.]

Hmm.. maybe if we close up the vest..?

[Helpfully, she stood, approaching with every intention of dressing him herself.]

[Eli could tell that she didn't really care for the next outfit.]

You don't like it. You- Okay, you can try and close up the vest, sure.

[And so she did! Very carefully, with small, deft fingers.]

One shade of blue jeans and a t-shirt is me. But I'll go try something else.
