[Kenzi's morning started off kind of shitty but she had no one to blame but herself. She drank waaaaaay too much the night before and was paying with it come early afternoon with a massive hang over. So she spent the first few hours trying to deal with that.

Eventually she felt well enough to get dressed and go out but what was she going to do while out? Other than get some delicious greasy food in her stomach, of course.

While she ate she though about what to do and eventually she decided she hadn't bugged Gil in a while. Once she was done with her meal she made her way to his place, it was too cold to just fly up to his window and wait so surprisingly she's at the door. Banging on it. If Gil doesn't answer quickly enough she'll start yelling as well.]

Aliens... [ It's still strange to think about. ]

Yup! It's really pretty neat.

None of this ever seems to surprise you. [ Is it a little unnerving for Gil himself? Yes. ]

Totes not true. I was surprised at first but now it's just normal. [She thinks it's all pretty awesome really.]

I'd never even heard of aliens until I arrived here. [ His gaze lifts, skyward. ] It's hard to imagine people have gone past that sky.

Personally never thought they really existed back home. [The Fae are a different story.]

[And oh hey! There's the box office. Kenzi rushes ahead to buy the tickets, yay for there not being much of a line.]

Have people gone to space in your-- hey! [ Don't run off like that! He quickens his pace to catch up. ]

[Yeah, she so didn't hear the question. By the time he catches up she has the tickets.]

Ten minuets. Plenty of time to get some snacks and find seats.

If you want food, go ahead. [ He's not going to bother with the junk food. ]

[wisecracked]

[At least the concessions line isn't too long. Before long Kenzi has her popcorn and a coke and they can go find their seats.]

So that place we went to before is nothing compared to this. The screens as much bigger here.

[invoking]

Bigger? [ He's shocked, actually. ] How big can they be?

[wisecracked]

You'll see! [She stuffs some popcorn into her mouth as they enter their theater.]

Behold! [She waves an arm at the screen before heading up the stairs to find a seat. Gotta be dead center.]

[invoking]

[ He falls behind momentarily, gaping at how huge that screen is. Is their eyesight safe with such a large screen?! ]

[wisecracked]

[She stops to glance back at him, clearly amused by his surprise. And then she's off to get the perfect seats again. Which are empty so she snags them.]

[invoking]

[ After composing himself he follows her to their seats. Since it's particularly warm in here, he can remove his hat, scarf, coat, etc. He takes a seat.

Then he feels weird. It is his second time at one of these things. It's almost the same as a production of theater, he tries to tell himself. But he never had much of an interest in those... ]

Why is it so big?

[wisecracked]

Because bigger is better, duh. [She gives a short laugh before stuffing some popcorn in her mouth.

This seems really over the top, though...

[wisecracked]

That's how things go, dude! Everything that's an upgrade on the old has to waaaaay outdo it. Just wait until you see the quality of this film over that other.

[invoking]

They're always doing that here. I don't understand what's wrong with previous models. Like the phones they advertise. [ Basically, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

He feels so weird in this small and low chair, probably because his legs are so long. He looks around and sees more people entering from below. Wow, they got here just in time. ]

This must be a popular movie if these many people are coming...

Advances in tech means people are gonna want what's new and hot and in.

[Kenzi watches the people entering as well before shrugging.]

It's fairly new so of course it's popular.

Oh. [ He doesn't follow movies in the paper or read much of the entertainment section. He sits quietly now, not sure what else to say.

Trying not to think of other things is hard, though. The silence grows awkward, only the murmurings of the others entering the theater puncturing it every few seconds. ]

[It's called TV, Gil. Try watching it sometime.

Awkward silence? With Kenzi around? Maybe the awkward part but silence not so much.]

Okay, question. Have you ever, like, tried courting - that's the term you use right - someone? You always talk about your master so it got me curious. I mean...you're like what? Thirty?
