[Kenzi's morning started off kind of shitty but she had no one to blame but herself. She drank waaaaaay too much the night before and was paying with it come early afternoon with a massive hang over. So she spent the first few hours trying to deal with that.

Eventually she felt well enough to get dressed and go out but what was she going to do while out? Other than get some delicious greasy food in her stomach, of course.

While she ate she though about what to do and eventually she decided she hadn't bugged Gil in a while. Once she was done with her meal she made her way to his place, it was too cold to just fly up to his window and wait so surprisingly she's at the door. Banging on it. If Gil doesn't answer quickly enough she'll start yelling as well.]

[ Gil was at home, of course, with nowhere to go on New Year's although it didn't bother him as much as it would any other person. He kept himself busy cleaning the small apartment space and eventually had himself a nice, warm shower.

There's still some time before he needs to start preparing dinner, so he's seated on the couch of the living room reading a book and enjoying a cigarette. The sudden banging jostles him out of his peace and quiet and he wastes no time putting the cigarette out, the book down, and buttoning up his collar to hide the scar on his neck before he walks over to his door.

He's not expecting anyone, but really, slamming on the door like that...

When he pulls the door open, his frown becomes a look of surprise. ]

Kenzi?

[wisecracked]

Hey, 'sup! You doing anything?

[She doesn't wait to be invited in she just walks right past him into the apartment. She doesn't go far from the door before turning around to look at him.]

Hey, don't just enter without permission!

[invoking]

[ Ah, since she's entered anyway he might as well close the door. He points to tray where his own shoes are kept. ]

Don't track snow inside. [ He just cleaned, okay! ]

[wisecracked]

[She looks down at her boots with a frown.] I knocked most of it off. 'Sides wasn't planning on staying around here. Let's go do something!

[invoking]

What? [ He's still frowning. ] You wanted to go out?

[wisecracked]

You can't tell me you were just going to hang around here all day? C'mon, we could go see a movie or something. [She doesn't look like she's going to back down from this idea of hers. She made her way all the way to his place after all.]

[invoking]

Wait, don't just show up here and start announcing what others should do! [ Although it's true he has nothing to do, it's not a bad thing in his eyes. It's nice to relax in the comfort of this (kind of cheap) apartment. ]

It's a holiday.

[wisecracked]

Which is why we should go out and do something. 'Sides the movies stay open on holidays. Usually.

[She's going to start with the puppy dog eyes if this doesn't work.]

[invoking]

Couldn't you have gone to someone else? [ Now he's suspicious; did she come for something else? Why would she show up here unannounced? ]

[wisecracked]

[Because you don't have a phone jerk!]

We haven't done anything lately. So I thought, why not?

[invoking]

Well... [ He looks around apprehensively. The apartment is clean and tidy, and it's not like he has any food cooking so he doesn't have to worry about wasting anything. ]

Fine, I guess. But next time you need to tell me in advance.

[ HAS NO PHONE YET... Gil, please. ]

[wisecracked]

Get a phone first then I'll think about giving warning. [Going through the network is just a pain.]

So, do you like musicals? [They're not really her thing but she knows there's no way she's going to get Gil to sit through most of the movies out right now.]

[invoking]

[ He's not sure what she could be referring to with that term. Opera, musical theatre-- movies that are actually musicals? Do they actually make those? ]

I don't have a preference.

[wisecracked]

[That last one would be correct. And of course they do, if they think they can make money off it they'll make it.]

Well then that makes it easier. [Opening the door and waiting on him.]

[invoking]

Hold on a second! [ He's not even dressed properly for the outside weather. He turns on his heel and heads into his room. ] Let me get dressed and find my wallet and keys.

[wisecracked]

[Right those things would be important. She closes the door and leans against it as she waits.]

[invoking]

[ He shuts the door to his room and it remains closed for about a minute while he picks out a heavier shirt to wear. He doesn't want Kenzi seeing his scars either. Eventually, he steps out of the room with a high collared shirt and his wallet, keys, and communicator in his hands. He then picks his coat and scarf off his coat rack. ]

So the movies are still open on holidays?

[wisecracked]

[Pft scars. They make men look badass, why hide them? Although she hides her own nasty one on her right hip.]

Not all of them, just the big company ones.

[Opening the door again and skipping out ahead of him.]

[invoking]

[ It's just sad when your master and best friend nearly killed you that one time you were kids.

He throws the coat on, slipping his arm into the sleeves and pocketing his belongings. Then he fishes out his gloves and gets those on before following after her. He pulls the door shut and fits the key into the lock. ]

So it's a movie, but the actors will be singing?

[wisecracked]

[True, true.]

Uh, yeah, most of it. Maybe all? [She shrugs as she glances back at him.]

All the musicals I've seen before had quite a bit of talking but then lots of a signing too. Kind of like Disney movies. Only I guess a lot of those are less song and more talking.

[She shrugs again.]

Disney... those cartoons, right? [ He's never actually seen a Disney film, but there's so many ads with them everywhere he actually knows its brand by now. Most of the cartoon stuff, anyway. ]

What movie is it, by the way?

[wisecracked]

Mostly cartoons. They have some live action and computer generated movies too.

[Her mouth twists into a half frown as she thinks. After a moment she shrugs.] Can't remember, it has some French name.

You don't know the title and you're going to see it, anyway?

[wisecracked]

It's in another language. Do you expect me to remember it? 'Sides, I figured you'd like that more than anything else that's out.
