[Kenzi's morning started off kind of shitty but she had no one to blame but herself. She drank waaaaaay too much the night before and was paying with it come early afternoon with a massive hang over. So she spent the first few hours trying to deal with that.

Eventually she felt well enough to get dressed and go out but what was she going to do while out? Other than get some delicious greasy food in her stomach, of course.

While she ate she though about what to do and eventually she decided she hadn't bugged Gil in a while. Once she was done with her meal she made her way to his place, it was too cold to just fly up to his window and wait so surprisingly she's at the door. Banging on it. If Gil doesn't answer quickly enough she'll start yelling as well.]

[Pft scars. They make men look badass, why hide them? Although she hides her own nasty one on her right hip.]

Not all of them, just the big company ones.

[Opening the door again and skipping out ahead of him.]

[ It's just sad when your master and best friend nearly killed you that one time you were kids.

He throws the coat on, slipping his arm into the sleeves and pocketing his belongings. Then he fishes out his gloves and gets those on before following after her. He pulls the door shut and fits the key into the lock. ]

So it's a movie, but the actors will be singing?

[True, true.]

Uh, yeah, most of it. Maybe all? [She shrugs as she glances back at him.]

All the musicals I've seen before had quite a bit of talking but then lots of a signing too. Kind of like Disney movies. Only I guess a lot of those are less song and more talking.

[She shrugs again.]

Disney... those cartoons, right? [ He's never actually seen a Disney film, but there's so many ads with them everywhere he actually knows its brand by now. Most of the cartoon stuff, anyway. ]

What movie is it, by the way?

Mostly cartoons. They have some live action and computer generated movies too.

[Her mouth twists into a half frown as she thinks. After a moment she shrugs.] Can't remember, it has some French name.

You don't know the title and you're going to see it, anyway?

It's in another language. Do you expect me to remember it? 'Sides, I figured you'd like that more than anything else that's out.

Doesn't that mean the movie itself is in another language?

Actually it's in English. As much sense as that makes.

That is strange. [ He nods and then falls silent. Kenzi must know plenty of people here by now, so why did she come to drag him out of the house? Is it because he's been too quiet? He had been working and before that keeping a low profile since the events in the stadium.

He thought she knew what he had done and yet here she is, acting as if nothing's wrong. ] Did you celebrate the New Years?

[Because he's been too quiet is exactly why. Plus he's one of the first friends she made and she hadn't talked to him lately. And then there's the fact that just about everyone else is busy with whatever.]

Partied hard and drank a lot. What about you? [What luck! Reaching the elevator while it's on the same floor. Going down.]

[ He steps into the elevator, shrugging lightly. ]

Nothing. [ Well... ] The news channels were showing celebrations around this world, so I watched a bit of that.

[ With some fascination, of course.

But loneliness swept him at some point during it. He remembers spending times like this with his friends back home. It was so weird, spending a major holiday away from everything he knows. Everyone he knows. ]

[That's why Kenzi went out and crashed random parties. She might have been lonely but at least she was having fun.]

Wow. Lame. Did you at least drink something to bring in the new year?

Coffee.

[ He doesn't do the alcohol thing. ]

Really? Coffee? That's not a proper way to to start off the new year!

[First floor! Going out into the lobby and heading for the front doors now.]

[ He makes a face. ]

I don't drink wine... or any sort of alcohol.

[Kenzi manages to catch his expression.]

Why not?

[Once outside Kenzi starts to hail a cab then stops. The movies aren't far and walking won't kill them.]

I don't like the taste. [ And the effects of it. He follows her closely, hands in his pockets and hoping she'll switch the topic. ]

Y'know you can mix stuff so you don't taste the alcohol anymore right? [Nope, not dropping the topic yet. Sorry, Gil.]

There's still alcohol inside of it.

Oooooh, so it's not the taste. Okay, gotcha.

[She gives a little shiver and pulls her coat tighter around herself. Good thing the movies are only another block over.]

There must be lots of people who don't drink alcohol.

[ He notices that. ]

Are you cold?

[She shrugs.] I guess. I just don't know any. Aside from you. You make a sing-- No wait, Piccolo too. But he also doesn't eat food...

[She glances over and flashes a smile.] A little but it's not much colder than back home, so I can deal.

You have a friend that doesn't eat? [ He stares ahead, trying to imagine that. ] How is that possible?

He's an alien...so I guess that's how? [She shrugs.] Never really bothered to ask about that.
