[ Donning simple dress pants and a shirt, Gil did do his best to look prim and proper for eating out at a fancy restaurant like this. His bangs are combed to the side as to keep from falling into his eyes, too. He doesn't even have the vaguest scent of ash on him tonight, although he always carries his cigarettes and lighter around.

Everyone seems to be minding their own business. When he arrived, they offered to show him to his seat immediately but he politely declined, waiting for Kenzi to show up.

Just as he turns to check the door again, he sees Kenzi approaching, blinking a couple of times as if to ensure it's really her. ]

Only a few minutes. It hasn't been long.

[She loops her arm around his and grins.] Good. Now lets go get our table.

[She waits for him before heading over to the podium where the hostess awaits. She's trying her best to not be forceful tonight but that could change after some wine.]

[ He's startled by the sudden closeness, going rigid to a certain extent and his face reddening. ]

Ken-- Alright...! Your boss has taken care of everything?

[Just be glad she's sparing him any accidental boob touching, she's close but not pressed against him.]

Yup, everything is taken care of by him. [Now she just dreads Monday because he's probably going to ask how everything went.

Once at the podium she gives the hostess her name and they're quickly lead to a table that's kind of out of the way. They're given menus and the whole spiel about what the current specials and that their server would be with them shortler before they're left alone. When the hostess is gone, Kenzi opens up her menu and glances it over, boy is she thankful she didn't have to pay for this.]

[ He wouldn't even notice... not immediately, anyway. When they get to their table, he wonders if he should have pulled out the chair for her but she's already there and looking over the menu so he remain on his end and takes a seat after the removal of his coat. As usual, the shirt is buttoned all the way up to hide the scar on his neck. He's always conscious of strangers' eyes. ]

It's a nice place... did he recommend it? [ He can't deny the food smells well-cooked and fresh. ]

[Pft, gentlemen. What are those? Kenzi's never been out with one, obviously. She takes notice of is collar but doesn't say anything, while the scar doesn't bother her she knows how he is. She'd probably feel the same way if her scars could be so easily seen.]

He picked it. Figured it'd be more to your liking, something more familiar to you. [Kenzi's mouth is practically watering because everything on the menu looks good and the smells in the air are just heavenly.]

[ He looks at the menu cover, not peeping inside yet. His gaze peels away from it to eye Kenzi curiously. ]

What do you mean? I don't think I've met your boss.

No, but he's a bit like me, does his research first. [And by that she means he stalks the network or talks to people.] And he did ask a bit about you so I told him the basic stuff, nothing too detailed.

[She glances up from the menu to flash him a smile before going back to it.]

What did you tell him...? [ Now he worries. ]

Not much, just that your world isn't anything like this one in terms of technology and all that. That you're old fashioned.

[Just as Kenzi is about to comment about something on the menu their server comes over to introduce himself and ask if they want anything to drink. For once, Kenzi doesn't order a soda but rather she goes with water and whatever wine the server suggests.]

Old fashioned... [ Well, it could be worse. He just sighs and finally opens up his menu, also relieved someone else is paying for this otherwise he would have a heart attack at these prices. Even if he can afford it now, thanks to Sue. ]

Do you want to eat right away or start with appetizers?

It's not a bad thing.

Oooh, appetizers. Dunno what to start with though. [There's just so much to choose from.]

You can go on and order whatever you like, then. [ He'll probably just wait for dinner. ]

[When the server returns with their drinks Kenzi orders a couple of different appetizers because she can't make up her mind.]

You sure you don't want anything?

I'm fine. I'll wait until dinner. [ While Xanatos' offer is generous and he'll reluctantly accept it, he won't take advantage of it. He's hoping not to leave a hefty bill for this mysterious man.

He is so bad at this small talk. What should he say? That she looks nice? Ask about the weather? They talk all the time and for once he's speechless. ]

Okay.

[Kenzi, on the other hand, is more than happy to take full advantage of her boss. It's only fair given how often he likes to torment her. So she was sure to tell the server to leave the whole bottle of wine, she's so taking that home.

Speaking of the wine, she gives it a taste and lets out a pleased hum.] Mmn, this is good. You sure you don't want to give it just a taste? It's not too strong.

[ His stomach instantly lurches in protest. ]

No, thanks. I'll stick with water...

[Kenzi shrugs and takes another sip.] 'Kay.

So I never did ask, what exactly is your job?

Here or back home?

[ A waiter comes by to take Kenzi's order then, as Gil politely declines for now and asks for water only. ]

Here, I know what you do back home.

[She puts in her order and sets her wine aside for now.]

[ The waiter takes off not too long after with a bright smile. Gil shifts in his seat, his hands resting in his lap. ]

Ms. Natasha gave me a job at her dance company... I mostly do office work. [ It's rather mundane, but it's a bit like Pandora's mundane work -- without all the research. ]

Dance company? [Kenzi perks up a bit at that. Look, Gil, you have her attention.]

Ballet. [ He nods. ] I don't know much about any productions, to be honest.

[If it's at all possible for Kenzi to perk up anymore she does.] Wow, I didn't know we had any other imPorts that did ballet. It's...been a while. [A long while.]

[ He notices and is visibly surprised. He didn't know she liked ballet. ]

Ms. Natasha doesn't dance herself... I think.
