It's the most wonderful time of the year. The sun is shining, the mosquitoes are biting, and it's time to think about what the hell you're doing to do with your life now that the summer is winding down. Which is probably why you've ended up at the City Hall sponsored First Semi-Annual Job Fair Spectacular.

The small park has been pretty much taken over by this event. Tables for each company/group that signed up are in rows with either a representative to speak with or a held down stack of promotional materials for any interested parties to pick up. Good luck, job hunters.

Stark Technologies

Mid morning, a few hours

[ It felt good to get out of his penthouse, finally. He'd been spending most of his time out of it, ever since he'd woken up to not having the behind of a rather large primate, and even though normally he'd leave something like this to the people who worked for him, maybe the PR staff, or recruiting, he'd been out of the public's eye for too long.

So he'd shown up in one of his very fancy cars, a bright red one, at that, shades perched over his nose. He'd shown up in slacks and just a white button up, leaving the tie and everything else at home, and since it was the middle of the morning, he'd even leave the shades on for the entire day.

He stayed close to the booth, but not necessarily right next to it the whole time, opting to get out and move. Cabin fever was certainly something that could apply even to him, and even though he'd practically lived in his suit, or at least mentally. ]

City Hall Security Team

Summary of Business/Group: Mostly the job description consists of making sure City Hall doesn't get blown up, that the Mayor doesn't get kidnapped, all that good stuff. Generally, it means your character will be in charge of shit that's out of the regular security's hands. However, it's also a totally boring job 99% of the time. More information on the team and the (to be updated) roster is over here on Bradbury's journal.
Particular skills/character types you're looking for?: The ability to listen to orders, some kind of combat skills/experience, no axe to grind against the government/authority/existing City Hall employees, no criminal record or affiliation with known criminals (within the City, anyway), basically don't be crazy. Obviously, this would be Bradbury's ideal, but sadly reality is not always as one would wish it, so things can be fudged. Characters can be employed as actual muscle or in more of a logistics/risk assessment capacity.

[ Nelson's generally a very enthusiastic and helpful booth-tender, undeterred by his broken nose or by spending his weekend working; he stands in front of it as opposed to sitting, smiling, waving, and passing out brochures to whomever heads in his direction. Information is laid out over the table in an organized little arc for easy visibility, and he's added an exclamation mark to the sign. ]

The Iceberg Lounge

Natasha's implied dance company

Summary of Business/Group: It is a small but fairly prestigious dance troupe that does a variety of traditional ballet and modern dance.
Particular skills/character types you're looking for?: Natasha oversees the fundraising aspect of the operation and hires people for office work. She's more interested in giving imPorts jobs but keeps this motivation secret. If your character is actually a dancer or wants to do something else with a dance company, I am sure she could get people a job/tryout, too.

[ Gil is here because boss lady is and this job fair is clearly important to the company, so he's willing to spend the afternoon in the hopes they can acquire more employees or maybe someone interested in donating money.

He looks rather bored, though. Maybe even uncomfortable sitting out here in the open, surrounded by numerous people. ]

City Hall

Summary of Business/Group: Government! Generally, City Hall employees other than the security staff work in the general government. Duties include pretty much everything that you can think of, records, the office of the comptroller, public advocate, and the separate areas of the different boroughs regions of the City. I use NYC's government as a template, which means there are also all of these departments as well, as well as import/native relations as another section, and there's a pretty strong disaster recovery showing since imports blow up stuff all the time!
Particular skills/character types you're looking for?: Anyone who's interested! Pretty much, if your character is interested, just hit me up! Mitch is always looking for more staffing, and if your character has an interest, or an avenue that's of interest to your development, just let me know and we can work something out!

During Hours Manned by Apirl

[As she does daily at City Hall, April can be found sitting behind her 'desk' at the booth, elbows resting on the edge, idly tying away at her phone. Mostly only when no one is actually talking at her, but there's no promise she's going to look up. The pamphlets stacked next to her are there to do the talking for her, anyway.

Just this one day. Then she can be free of this community service nightmare and get back into the revenge game.]

For about an hour and a half; Midday around lunch time

[ Now, the Mayor wasn't there for very long, and he couldn't be expected to be, but he did make a showing, and there was a good hour and a half when he wasn't talking to the media, or having an interview or two about the whole thing. He made sure, of course, to give the real organizer credit, but after he waved them off so he could actually help out with this whole community service and volunteering thing, he'd be found standing somewhere near the City Hall booth.

Somehow immune to the New York summer, or more accurately, ignoring it through sheer force of will, still in his usual black suit and red tie, although the jacket was unbuttoned, and his hands hovered around his hips. After all, he was human, even if he was very good at pretending he wasn't. Then again, this was nothing compared to leather and a jetpack on his ass. ]

Dancitron

[ Norman isn't planning to spend the entire day here, but it is his company, and his name is attached. He has the time to devote a few hours to manning the booth, offering information and making conversation to those who want it. His VP is competent enough to handle things when Norman leaves (and before he arrived) but she doesn't have Norman's charisma, which is key in business.

Norman thinks so. He sits, attentive with his hands folded together, alternating passing out brochures, taking notes, and talking on his cellphone. Brochures and booklets sit on one side of him, a caddy for resumes on the other. ]

Norman Osborn Hospital of Psychiatric Evaluation

[ Officially, Norman isn't there. He definitely isn't there to man the booth, but around noon he does swing by just to see how things are going. He's mostly checking to see where interest stands, how many people have applied or inquired or might have questions.

City Musicians!

The Department of Integration

[Rapunzel and Pascal can be found manning the booth for the ImPort Clinic, Rapunzel with her hair short, having conversations with the chittering little chameleon who is sitting on her shoulder and smiling brightly at anyone who happens to come up to her. She has little speeches prepared about various things the clinic does but she tends to forget them and just ramble about whatever someone asks.]

[There's a large poster behind her with a picture of Professor Mordin pointing at the crowd, with 'Professor Mordin wants YOU!...for the ImPort Clinic' written on it, but Rapunzel doesn't get the joke, sadly.]

City Lights Magazine

[ for the most part, kanaya just looks bored. she's gone about taking photos of the fair already, taking little notes every now and then, but she doesn't know how she's supposed to turn this into a story. she doesn't do stories to begin with, even a ridiculous fluff piece like this, but with how shorthanded the staff is now that their editor-in-chief is gone, everyone has extra slack to pick up.

she spends most of her time at the magazine's booth, fiddling with her sketchbook and putting on her best smile whenever someone passes. she half expects this whole day to be a bust. ]

The City Police Department

Summary of Business/Group: A source of legal enforcement in the City, under the supervision of NPC Commissioner Roberta Hernandez. The force primarily consists of native police officers, but there are a couple of imPort employees.

April Ludgate Needs Roommates

Skills/character types you're looking for?: People capable of paying rent and doing all the chores. Preferably ones that can be tricked into paying more than their share of rent without knowing it.

There is no real additional summary for this booth. It's just April, sitting behind a table during the hours she isn't at the City Hall booth. The sign in front of it looks like it was initially going to say APRIL LUDGATE NEEDS RENT before the last word was crossed out and replaced with roommates.

See. She's putting some effort into marketing.

[ Gil's lurking around the booth, keeping an eye out for April herself. He still feels a tremendous weight of guilt for their last conversation, though it's not as if they ever have decent, normal conversations with each other.

Still, her boyfriend was ported out and she may be in trouble with rent. He may not understand her or have strong feelings about her, but it doesn't mean Gil wants to see her thrown out onto the streets. (Of course these are extreme thoughts, but this is Gil.)

When the coast is seemingly clear, he approaches quietly. ]

Xanatos Enterprises

Particular skills/character types you're looking for?: Pretty much all positions are open! Even more open than usual because it's mostly just going to be Nepeta working the booth.

[the booth for Xanatos Enterprises is...a bit sparse for a smooth company like it. there's nothing on the table itself - no fliers, no pamphlets, not even free pens with the company logo. the banner meticulously taped to the front is certainly impressive with regards to use of eye-catching colors, but something about the appearance makes it difficult to be certain of whether or not it was done in markers. all in all, it's a pretty good example of the poor vetting process done by the fair's ringleader.

none of this seems to be troubling Nepeta, who is the sole figured seated behind the borderline piece of abstract art. she's (relatively) neat and clean in her Xanatos Enterprises courier outfit, beaming from ear to ear. she seems intent on her attitude making up for her lackluster supplies; she's almost constantly calling out to any passersby who so much as blink in the booth's direction, going so far as to lean over the table and wave in their faces.
